Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep a local log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can cause the server to receive routine technical information about the visit:
- Page-view times and visit duration
- Browser version and operating system
- Device type and assigned IP address
- Pages opened during the visit
- A referring site, when one is supplied
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files used to understand traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers combine that activity into reports. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Route a submitted query to the selected search partner
- Maintain site availability and page speed
- Diagnose errors and other technical faults
- Measure which resources visitors use
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Platte County Criminal History does not host, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes directions to official custodians, including the Platte County Sheriff, Sixth Judicial Circuit, Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a record about another person or a consumer report. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing rules govern any data submitted to them. Review the selected provider's policy before running a query because we do not control those practices.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to courts, sheriff pages, Missouri agencies, legal resources, or outside tools. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's privacy policy controls the visit. Check those terms before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and tailor ads. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be disclosed only to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a query a visitor submits
- Advertising networks serving content on a page
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures protect data in our control. No online system is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such data is identified, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Rights depend on the law that applies to the request. The Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610, governs records held by public bodies, while RSMo sections 43.500 and 43.530 govern Missouri's Central Repository and criminal-history dissemination. Those laws do not turn this private resource into a government records custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Ask what personal data is held
- Object to certain forms of processing
- Request deletion when the law permits it
